Aladdin & the Magic Lamp. Aladdin was a son of a poor tailor. After his father death by chance he found in a cave a Magic Lamp and occasionally rubbed it. The Genie appeared ready to do all his wishes. One day Aladdin saw the Princess and fell in love with her, the same wanted the Vizier son. But Aladdin managed to marry Princess with the help of the Genie. One day the Magic Lamp and Princess were stolen and the Sultan wanted to kill Aladdin but simple people loved him for his generosity and saved his life. Aladdin found his wife and Magic Lamp and later succeeded the Sultan when he died. |
Amazing Turnip. Once upon a time planted the grandfather the Turnip. It grew very big. Grandfather began to pull it out, but was unable to do it. He called the grandmother and they began to pull together. No result. The grandmother called her granddaughter. They began to pull the Turnip out. No result again. Then granddaughter called the dog, the dog called the cat and they began to pull all together. No result. And finally they managed to pick it up only when small mouse helped. |
Goldie Locks and 3 Bears. One day Masha went with her friends to the forest. She gathered berries and lagged behind her friends. She came to a strange house. She saw three plates there. She ate all meal from the smallest. In the other room she saw three beds. She fell asleep in the smallest bed. This house belongs to 3 Bears: the Father Bear, Mother Bear and their little son. Soon three Bears came home and when little Bear saw Masha sleeping in his bed he began to shout. Masha waked up and ran away from their house. She ran so quickly that she suddenly came to her own house. |
Little Mermaid. The Sea King had 3 daughters, but the most beautiful was Little Mermaid. Once she saw a Prince and loved him. She asked the Sea Witch to give her legs. The Witch gave legs, but she was unable to speak and to go back to the sea and Little Mermaid gone wit the prince. Prince took Mermaid with him, but he met another Princess and married her. When they were on the ship, two Mermaids' sisters gave her the knife and told if Little Mermaid kills the prince she'll be able to go back to the sea. But she didn't, throw the knife into the sea, jumped there herself and became foam. |
LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD. Once upon a time lived a girl and her name was Red Hood, because she was wearing a red hood. Once Mum cooked some pies and said Red Hood to bring it to the Grandmother who was ill. When Red Hood was going through the forest the Wolf saw her and wanted to eat her. So he went to the Grandmother's house, ate her and put on her clothes. When Red Hood came to Grandmother the wolf ate her. After some minutes two woodcutters went to see Grandmother and they saw the Wolf. They cut his stomach and got Red Hood and Grandmother out. |
Puss in Boots. The miller died and three of his sons divided the inheritance. The youngest one got only the Cat and did not know what to do with it. But the cat was not usual one but very clever and helped its master to get from poverty to riches through a series of clever ploys. The Cat convinced the King and his beautiful daughter that his Master is very rich person, who owns plenty of fields and huge castle that the Cat managed to take off the Monster who he convinced to transform into a mouse and ate him. Its Master and Princess married and lived in this beautiful castle at the end off the story. |
Tsar Saltan (story by Alexander Pushkin). Three sisters sit near a window and dream of marrying the tsar. Suddenly he appears in their room. He was overheard the youngest girl's wish to have a strong, brave son and he declared that he will marry her. He also invited her sisters to his castle, one as a cook and other as a weaver. But when the tsarina gave birth to a fine son, her sisters placed her and her child in a barrel and sent out to see. They didn't die, but came to the strange island and lived there. Tsar searched for them and at the end he returned his wife and his son back to their castle and they lived happily for a long time. |
Snow Queen. The Devil has created a magic mirror, which reflects everything evil and mocks everything good. The mirror is broken and one of it's fragments with spreading evil lodges in Kay's eye. The Queen gave her a poisoned apple and princess died. In the neighbor kingdom lived a Prince who wanted to marry the princess and began to search for her. Soon he came to the house of Dwarfs. They brought him to the coffin of Princess in the mountains. Prince kissed Snow-White and she went alive. The mirror once more said to the Queen that Snow-White is the most beautiful lady in the world. The Queen has died of a rage… |
THE THREE LITTLE PIGS. Mother Pig was very poor and three Little Brothers Pigs were left for themselves. They lived in the big forest. In front of winter coming and to be safe of Wolf they decided to build houses for themselves. One of them did it from straw, another one from wood and third from stones. Two Brothers already finished their houses and started to make fun of their Brother, who still built his house from stones. Two Brothers told him that there is no Wolf in their forest to be afraid off. But third Brother finally finished his house. One day winter came and even Wolf came to this forest. He broke fragile houses of two Brothers, they escaped to the stone house of the third Brother. The Wolf didn't manage to brake it and Three Little Pigs spent there all the winter. |
Thumbelina. One woman wanted to have a daughter. Magician gave her grain and a flower grew from it with a little girl inside. Once upon a time big Frog stole Thumbelina and wanted her son to marry her. But Thumbelina was stolen from the Frog by the Bug. But soon Bug decided that she is unbeautiful and left her. The winter came and Thumbelina found the mouse's hole in the field. Mouse gave her some meal and wanted Mole to marry her. But Thumbelina didn't want to marry the Mole and asked the bird to rescue her. Bird brought Thumbelina to magic country, where she married the Elf and lived happily. |
Russian fairy tale Scarlet Flower. Once upon a time lived one merchant who had three daughters. One day, when he went to travel, the youngest beloved daughter asked him to bring her the scarlet flower. He searched for it many days and at once he found it. He picked the flower and suddenly a terrible monster appeared. The monster allowed a merchant to take the flower home, but made him promise to send his daughter back to the monster's castle. Merchant didn't want to let his daughter go to the monster but she said that she would. She went to the monster's castle and fell in love with the monster, because he was kind. Her love turned the monster back into a handsome prince and they got married. |

Cinderella fairy tale. Once upon a time lived a man, whose wife died. He was a forester and had a daughter Cinderella (Zolushka in Russian version). He married a widow. She was a very vicious woman, and she had two daughters of her own. Forester's daughter was beautiful and hardworking young lady, but the daughters of the woman were lazy and ugly. The stepmother took care for her daughters but she didn't like Cinderella. She wanted Cinderella to do all the work at home. Cinderella had to do all the work around the house. Once the stepmother and her daughters were invited to a ball in the king's palace. The stepmother left Cinderella home to do a lot of work and went out with her daughters. Cinderella began to work, but her godmother suddenly came. She was a fairy. The godmother asked Cinderella if she want to go to the ball. Cinderella said that she would love to be there. Then the godmother gave Cinderella a beautiful dress, a carriage with three nice horses and crystal shoes and said that Cinderella must be back home by midnight. Cinderella came to the party and danced with a prince. She forgot about time and when she looked at the clock it was 11:59. Cinderella ran away and lost one shoe. The clock struck 12 as she left the palace. Cinderella came home and finished all the work that stepmother told her to do. Meantime, the prince found a crystal shoe, and wanted to find a young lady, whose shoe he found. He ordered his servants to do so. Servants came to town and searched for the lady. Every young lady tried a shoe, but noone had the right size... Soon servants came to Cinderella's house. Cinderella put on a shoe and she had the second one too. Then she was brought to the prince's palace and a prince married her. They lived happily ever after. |
Russian fairy tale Princess Frog. The King ordered his three sons to shoot arrows as far as they can and told them that whoever finds the arrows will become his sons wives. The youngest son, Prince Ivan, shoots his arrow into a swamp and a frog finds it. Loyal to his father's wishes, Prince Ivan marries the frog, who turned to become the most clever daughter-in-law. One night, when the king had a party, the frog became Vasilisa, a beautiful young lady turned into a frog by a spell. Excited by his wife's transformation, Prince Ivan threw away the ugly frog skin, without knowing that his hasty action would doom his wife to a terrible future. When she discovered that her skin had been thrown away, Vasilisa turned into a swan and disappeared. Distraught by her disappearance, Prince Ivan began searching for her. After two years of looking with help of an old man, animals and a witch called Baba Yaga he found Vasilisa in the dark castle of the immortal wizard Koschei (means like a skeleton). Ivan defeated the wizard and brought Vasilisa back home!
